Week #1:
Always swim with a BUDDY! Everyone, children and
adults alike, should never swim alone. This is especially true when swimming in open water, as well as in swimming pools.
Why should you swim with a buddy?
*Cramps. Even excellent swimmers
can cramp up and not be able to swim well enough to make it to safety.
*Fatigue. Strong
and weak swimmers alike get tired after swimming for long periods of time.
*Personal Injury. If you are
injured while swimming alone who will call for help? Often times people jump or dive into murky water with unknown depths
or into shallow water in a pool. This usually results in back or neck injury.
The bottom line is that you should never go swimming alone no matter
how old or good of a swimmer you are. And younger children, even if their with a buddy, should never swim unsupervised!
REMBER TO THINK...
BEFORE YOU SINK!
